Activity

Our group is responsible for:
  • Assisting the School of Medicine and Surgery, teaching committee chairs and degree programme contact staff with study programmes and managing the teaching programmes for this group.
  • Carrying out quality assurance for study programmes and the teaching within this group.
  • Helping the School of Medicine and Surgery maintain relations with local and regional authorities of the National Health System, especially the integrated university hospital, to ensure university courses are in line with the planning and implementation policies implemented by local, regional and national health authorities.
  • Managing the academic records of students taking first- and second-level programmes in the School of Medicine and Surgery and Exercise Science.
  • Cultivating relations with all the internal and external people involved in medical postgraduate specialisation programmes/residencies.
  • Managing the academic records of students enrolled in medical postgraduate specialisation programmes/residencies and developing related services.
  • Running the help desk for students.

Operational units

Medical Postgraduate Specialisations and State Exams Unit
This unit is responsible for:
  •  Managing teaching assignments by external lecturers.
  •  Supporting directors – interacting with the postgraduate specialisation administration offices to plan and manage study programmes (RAD database, U-Gov and ESSE3).
  •  Managing agreements for an educational network of postgraduate specialisations (residencies) and drafting agreements for the funding of additional contracts.
  •  Managing contract professors.
  •  Managing limited-entry specialisation programmes and the enrolment process for these.
  •  Managing the academic records and training contracts of trainee doctors.
  • Overseeing the state exams for Medicine and Surgery, and Dentistry.

Doctors in specialist training - clarification


It is hereby specified that doctors in specialist training (‘specializzandi’ in Italian) in their fourth and fifth year who are hired by the Italian National Health Service pursuant to Decree Law no. 14 of 9 March 2020, shall not lose any rights with regard to their specialisation programme, as set out in the same decree.

Medicine Teaching and Student Services Unit
This unit is responsible for:
  • Supporting the deliberations of the department, teaching committees and joint committees on teaching and student services.
  • Supporting the department, teaching committees and study programme contact staff in establishing and modifying courses (initial project, definitive project (Sua-CdS card) and sustainability), establishing and terminating courses (teaching load, teaching regulations) and monitoring (exam resits and second marking).
  • Managing contract professors.
  • Overseeing the organisation of lesson times, exams and graduation sessions.
  • Managing the academic records of the students in the department.
  • Running the front office.
Exercise Science Teaching and Student Services Unit
This unit is responsible for:
  • Supporting the deliberations of the department, teaching committees and joint committees on teaching and student services.
